The majority of our diamonds over 0.50 carats are accompanied with a GIA certificate and other important gemstones with certificates from leading independent authorities within the industry.

Issued by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), an independent laboratory and the world's foremost authority on diamonds, a GIA certificate is a record of the quality and properties of a stone. They are issued after a diamond inspection and graded. If the diamond you have chosen has a GIA certificate, we will email the e-copy to you upon purchase.

Colors of diamonds range from D (Colorless) to Z (Colored). The diamond colour evaluation of most gem-quality diamonds is based on the absence of colour. A chemically pure and structurally perfect diamond has no hue, like a drop of pure water, and consequently, a higher value. GIA’s D-to-Z diamond colour-grading system measures the degree of colourlessness by comparing a stone under controlled lighting and precise viewing conditions to masterstones of established colour value.
Clarity refers to the presence of impurities on and within the stone. Inclusions are very slight imperfections in the diamond's interior that are nearly invisible to the naked eye and typically require 10x magnification to view.

Carat is the standardized measure of a diamond’s weight. It is to be noted that any two diamonds with the same carat weight cannot be assumed to have the same size as well. Carat is a unit of weight, not size, so measurements can vary.

Finally, cut refers to how the stone was polished to reflect the most light and brilliance - aka, the diamond's sparkle. Diamond cuts are scaled from lowest to the highest quality determined by the dimension of light reflection from the stone which is basically the stone’s sparkle.

The 4Cs — colour, clarity, cut and carat weight — are the globally accepted standards for assessing the quality of a diamond.

A diamond's quality depends on a combination of all the four "Cs." However, the most critical of these is cut. More than any other factor, cut determines the brilliance, fire and overall beauty of your diamond.

The length-to-width ratio is calculated by dividing the length of the diamond by its width. This conveys how relatively square or rectangular a fancy-shaped diamond appears when viewed from the top.
